Family-run earthmoving contractor in Montaione
Iozzi Movimento Terra is a small, owner-operated contractor based in Montaione, Tuscany, specialising in earthmoving, excavation, site preparation, land grading and demolition.
We also build gravel roads, septic tanks, compacted gravel yards and dry-laid boulder walls, handling every job directly and practically, based on the ground, the access and what the client needs.
The current sole-proprietor business has been operating since 2021.

We build dry-laid boulder walls, retaining structures and rock landscaping with natural stone to support banks, stabilise ground and manage slopes. This work is ideal for banks, sloping ground, gardens, retaining walls and natural ground stabilisation.

Transport and material handling
We have trucks of different sizes and payloads to transport and move soil, gravel, sand, aggregates and building materials. With tipper trucks and a crane truck we handle both transport and loading, unloading and moving materials directly on site.

Handling of rubble and site waste
The company is listed in the Albo Nazionale Gestori Ambientali (Italy’s national register of environmental operators) in category 2-bis and is authorised, within the limits set by law, to collect and transport the waste produced by its own work. This means excavated material and rubble from our jobs are handled correctly and traceably, in line with current environmental rules.

What earthmoving and excavation work do you do?
We do excavation, bulk digs, earthmoving, foundations, drainage, utilities, sewers, land grading, yards, gravel roads and site preparation. We take on small private jobs as well as larger sites, choosing the right machine each time.
Do you also do earthmoving for private owners?
Yes. We work for private owners, businesses, building contractors, farms and professionals. We assess every job based on the space available, the type of ground, the access and the site itself.
Do you build and repair gravel roads?
Yes. We build, repair and maintain gravel roads (the typical Tuscan “strade bianche”), from preparing and levelling the base to spreading and compacting the material, for private driveways as well as farm and service tracks.
Do you build compacted gravel yards?
Yes. We prepare, level, spread and compact yards for homes, businesses, farms, parking areas and service areas.
Depending on the job we can use natural or recycled compacted gravel, choosing the best option for the intended use, the ground and the result you want.
Do you dig foundations for new buildings?
Yes. We dig foundations, carry out bulk excavation and prepare the ground for new builds, extensions and construction work. We can also support builders during the later stages, moving materials and helping on site.
Do you excavate for swimming pools?

Yes. We build dry-laid boulder walls, retaining structures and rock landscaping with natural stone to support banks, stabilise ground and shape sloping areas.
The boulders are placed with suitable machines, carefully arranged and fitted together for solid, practical work that blends into its surroundings.
Do I always need a permit to dig?
It depends on the type of work, the area, the planned works and any restrictions that apply. Where needed, the situation can be checked in advance with Studio Tecnico Iozzi.
